(All Day) Structural & Architectural Design
Step into the world of architecture and engineering in this engaging design class created with local Twin Cities designers. Explore key architectural concepts and bring your ideas to life through creative design challenges. Learn to use TinkerCAD, a powerful 3D design tool, to plan and build digital models of your own projects. With LEGO building, uncover the science behind structures as you investigate physics, external forces, and strategies for strength and stability. Working with a partner, you will take on advanced building tasks, solve open-ended challenges, and complete hands-on projects that inspire imagination and innovation.

What students will do
- Design custom 3D models using TinkerCAD
- Print and take home two custom creations
- Complete themed design challenges
- Design original 3D models using TinkerCAD
- Understand the 3D printing process from design to physical object
- Apply spatial and geometric thinking to digital design
- Design TinkerCAD models and tackle LEGO structural challenges
- Create advanced architectural designs with a partner
