Engineering: Solar, Hydro & Wind Powered
Combine engineering and renewable energy by exploring solar, hydro, and wind power! Students will build cars, cranes, drawbridges, and more using LEGO® kits, then operate them with alternative energy sources. Working in small teams of two to three, they will experiment with solar panels, waterwheels, and wind turbines in a high-energy, hands-on course. Projects include a windmill, Ferris wheel, waterwheel, and solar car. Students will also learn how energy is harnessed from the sun, wind, and water before designing and testing their own car to race on the final day.
