3D Printing: Star Wars-Themed
3D Printing: Star Wars-Themed
Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD and prepare them for printing with the slicing program Cura. Projects include creating a droid and other Star Wars–inspired models while learning the essentials of 3D design and digital fabrication. Students will also take part in themed challenges and create space-inspired video games while waiting for their models to print. Each participant will have two small 3D designs printed and sent home at the end of camp. Printing and material fees are included. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Extreme Robotics: Battlebots
Get ready for a week of building, coding, and competing! This camp combines the creativity of the LEGO building system with the excitement of robotics. Students will team up in groups of two to three to design and build their own LEGO robots, bring them to life with block-based programming, and take on daily challenges that inspire teamwork and problem solving. Students will build learning models to understand key robotics concepts, then customize and modify their design to take on new challenges. From fun mini-missions to final competitions, including target-hitting games and an action-packed robot sumo battle, every day is packed with hands-on learning and excitement. Perfect for kids who love to build, code, and compete!

Robotic Builders: Space & Star Wars
This course builds knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming, and teamwork in an environment full of galactic fun! Designed by the experts at MIT, this unique system teaches students about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Working in pairs, students will create Star Wars and space-inspired robots. Models include AT-ST Biped, spinning TIE fighter, cannons, and other out-of-this-world models. Video Production for YouTube: Gaming
YouTube is the top destination for online videos, and now you can learn how to create your own Let’s Play! In this camp, students will capture a PC gaming session and add a voice-over to bring their gameplay to life. In the first half of camp, they’ll learn tricks filmmakers use for better shots, practice capturing gameplay, and add sound effects. In the second half, students will edit short videos, adding transitions and a soundtrack. Bring a USB drive (at least 8 GB) on the last day to save your project.

Students will take their engineering skills to the next level by constructing remote-controlled robots inspired by the popular Discovery Channel show BattleBots. Using LEGO® Robotics systems and specialized Technic™ engineering components, they’ll build extreme machines designed for competition. Working in small teams of two to three, students will test, re-engineer, and morph their robots to become better, stronger, and faster before entering them into a high-energy tournament on the final day.

Join us as we explore, investigate, and solve problems through hands-on engineering. This engaging class combines LEGO® Education and LEGO® Technic™ materials to study design, technology, science, and mathematics. Students working in pairs will build learning models, then be challenged to customize and improve their projects using the principles they’ve discovered. Topics include design principles, mechanisms, pneumatics, pressure, prototyping, and energy. Possible builds include a scissor lift, stamping press, robotic arm, robotic hand, animatronic scarecrow, and even a dinosaur, blending creativity with engineering problem solving.

Unleash your imagination as you journey through the wide-ranging world of LEGO® building. Working in pairs, students will build models and discuss the engineering science behind each creation. This engaging, hands-on class shows how engineering can be both silly and educational at the same time. Students will then be challenged to improve and customize their designs for added creativity. Possible projects include the never-look-back machine, skittletops, do-nothing machine, coat hanger daredevil, trapdoor cable car, parachute machine, rubber band racer, and other wild contraptions.
