This engaging, hands-on class shows how engineering can be both silly and educational at the same time. Students will then be challenged to improve and customize their designs for added creativity. Possible projects include the never-look-back machine, skittletops, do-nothing machine, coat hanger daredevil, trapdoor cable car, parachute machine, rubber band racer, and other wild contraptions.

Bring your imagination to life as you step into the role of an architect. Using specialized architectural LEGO® kits, students will design and construct towers, castles, houses, and more while working in pairs. The class introduces the concept of three dimensions in design and explores how math and engineering shape construction. Students will experiment with size, scale, and techniques such as stacking and staggering bricks to create strong and stable structures. Projects include houses with removable roofs, castles with turrets, and towers built for strength. This hands-on experience blends creativity with the principles of architecture and design.

Students will begin by building robotic beasts and monster machines such as a Robo-Dog, Mega-Gorilla, Insectoid Bot, and the Scorpion Warrior. Once their robots are built, they’ll dive into programming to make them move, attack or even think on their own. This hands-on camp is both fun and educational, teaching the foundations of building, coding, and problem solving through robotics. Working in teams, students will then be challenged to modify and re-engineer their robots to become better, stronger, and faster. Every day brings new opportunities to create, experiment, and compete.
